Windclan / WindClan Guide
« Last post by morpheus on November 26, 2012, 08:51:42 pm »WindClan is easily the fastest of the proClans, and perhaps even of all. Their cats are notorious for light bodies, slim builds, and fast feet that allow them to hunt rabbits. Their moorland territory, while no less large than the rest, often seems huge because of the shee amount of space there.
Ranks
(*'s are high positions)
*Leader - Leads the Clan, final say in everything, guides cats.
*Deputy - Takes over after Leader dies, organizes patrols, helps lead Clan, also acts as the head of the guard.
*Medicine cat - Heals the sick and injured, interprets omens.
*Medicine cat apprentice - Apprenticed to the medicine cat, learning the ways of herbs.
(Semi-high position) Tunnelers - Cats trained to fight and thrive in the rabbit warrens that crisscross their territory.
Warriors - The bulk of the Clan.
Apprentices - Each assigned to a warrior to train them, generally cats from 6 to 12 moons.
Kits - Kittens! They become apprentices at six moons.
Queens - She-cats expecting or nursing kits.
Elders - The older cats of the Clan, often the strongest and the wisest.
Territory and Camp
WindClan's camp lies in a small dip in the moors. The grasses arch above it, camouflaging it perfectly, though they do not provide much protection against an attack. Their hollow is nearly always shaded because of the brown stalks. There is a pit in the center that holds their freshkill level with the ground of the camp when it is full. Around this are dens woven of grass and held together by mud. Announcements are held around the freshkill pile without any sort of podium for the leader. Instead of nests, WindClan cats sleep upon the dry, dusty ground, the only exceptions being the elders, queens, and kits.
The territory is nearly unchanging. Rolling hill after rolling hill are the main terrain, though near RiverClan, a thick stream marks the border. Their other line is the final tree, used as the marker between ShadowClan and WindClan. Between those two are mostly dust and grass. Their main feature is a long-abandoned barn, still bright red, that lies on the border furthest from the gathering place. It holds mice in the dead of winter and is occasionally used as a camp during bad weather. The main diet consists of rabbits, though mice and voles are common, especially from the barn.
Religion
WindClan cats are extremely strong believers in StarClan. They pray to their warrior ancestors for food, water, sun, rain, anything that they need to happen. On rare occasions, they will leave prey sacrifices for StarClan to appease the spirits. Rituals and studies are common, and omens are taken extremely seriously.
